Foothold ("we", "us") is a task-planning app that helps people get started on things, designed with ADHD in mind. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled.
Account info: your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase - we never see or store your raw password).
Task content: the tasks and steps you create, your points, streaks, and settings. This is stored in our database (Supabase) so your data is there when you come back.
AI-assisted breakdowns: when you ask Foothold to break a task into smaller steps, the text of that task is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the steps. We don't send your email or account identity along with it.
Payment info: if you subscribe to Foothold Plus, your payment is processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card number - Stripe shares back only what we need to know your subscription is active.
Usage analytics: we use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand which pages get used. This does not use tracking cookies or sell data to anyone.
We don't sell your data. We don't share your tasks or personal information with advertisers. We don't use your task content to train AI models beyond the single request needed to generate that breakdown.
Only the service providers above (Supabase for hosting/auth/database, Anthropic for the AI breakdown feature, Stripe for billing, and Vercel for hosting and analytics), each bound by their own privacy and security commitments. If you use Foothold's "Friends" or "Shared lists" features, the specific information you choose to share with a friend (like a shared task list) is visible to that friend - that's the point of the feature.
You can delete your account and data at any time from Settings, or by emailing us at the address below. You can also export or stop using AI-assisted breakdowns without affecting the rest of the app.
Foothold is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
